Black Bean Burger
Summer is around the corner and the only burger recipe you're going to need is this one! Really easy and quick to put together.
Equipment
- masher or folk
Ingredients
- 470 g Black Beans (tinned and drained)
- 1 medium green bell pepper diced
- 1 medium onion diced
- 125 g chestnut mushrooms diced
- 2 tsp cajun seasoning
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 4 tbsp nutritional yeast (15g)
- 4 tbsp fine breadcrumbs (30g)
- 1 tsp salt or more
- oil
Instructions
- Heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan on medium heat. Add the onions and cook till transparent.
- Next add the peppers and saute until completely cooked. Empty the mixture into a bowl.
- Heat another tbsp of oil on high heat and lightly saute the mushrooms. Cook off any excess liquid.
- Add the beans to a bowl and mash. Next add the vegetables, seasoning, breadcrumbs and the nutritional yeast.
- Combine together and form patties into the size preferred.
- Heat a shallow pan on medium heat, add oil. Not too mush just enough to cover the base.
- Place the burgers in the pan, allow the bottom to brown before flipping. This will take around 4 to 5 mins for both sides.
- Now assemble the burgers! You can add anything else to the burger, I added smashed avocado, lettuce, tomatoes, gherkins and a spicy mayo.
